“Hello, my name is [Your Name] and I live in [City, State.] I’m calling to urge you to reject any attempt to include hemp ban language into the government funding bill, and support Rand Paul’s amendment to remove such language. Hemp products are important to me and millions of Americans and I can’t lose access to them. Please oppose any language that bans hemp products. Thank you.”

As you’ve likely heard by now, the federal government has passed a bill containing language that would effectively ban hemp beverages such as Tetra and countless others made by our peers here in Minnesota and across the country.  As it stands, we have 365 days before the new language goes into effect and has a catastrophic impact on our industry.

Our story with hemp beverages is not unique in the brewing world:  As alcohol consumption has declined in recent years and as we’ve navigated…well…*gestures wildly at the last 5-6 years*, these beverages have become a pillar of our small business and a necessary  lifeline for our survival.  We have produced our Tetra product line legally, responsibly, and safely as this market continues to thrive and evolve.  We are also not unique in how this ban will affect our business.  To put it bluntly:  Bauhaus will not survive if we are not able to continue legally producing and selling these products.

With all that said, we remain hopeful that there is a path forward but we and our peers NEED your support:

  • If you are a fan of Tetra or other hemp products, reach out to your representatives and tell them what this issue means to you.  Make sure they know how this will affect jobs and businesses in your community.  Ask for legalization and regulation at the federal level that allows us and our peers to continue the work we’ve been doing

  • Remember that everything remains business as usual for the next 365 days - please continue supporting the breweries and retailers you’ve been supporting up to this point.  We all need it now more than ever.

  • Talk to your friends and communities about this.  There are still so many people who are not aware of how large this product category has become and what the social and economic impact will be if it goes away.

Thank you for your continued support!
